Raised bed production!

This is our first bed of three. Have you read the book the $64 dollar tomato! We have already passed that price. We wanted the front yard to look nice, so we spent a few extra bucks on nice cedar wood.

We are very proud of our first raised bed.

  1. That looks awesome! I can't wait to see what you are planting. My heirloom tomato seedlings did not fair well while we were in mt. Dora. I hope yours will do better.

  2. I like your growing box. We've planted four beds so far this year. They're lined with stone and contain: onions, cabbage, lettuce, squash, lavender, chives, oregano, mint, and cilantro. We still have to get our peppers in the ground and plant some more seeds. I've been reading the Square Foot Gardening book for inspiration.

  3. Those look pretty good. You should try to grow some hops in one of the raised beds. Oregon is a great place to grow them. We are going to try to grow some down here in FL, but it might be a little challenging. A couple places to check out are http://www.freshops.com/ and http://www.northwesthops.com/. We ordered ours from North West Hops.

  4. I guess I just work too hard because I don't have any pretty garden. Guess, I need to take a vacation! The pictures are great and I can't wait for my pepper jelly!
